Our Philosophy
What We Believe: Each child has a special unique design written into his or her being that best emerges in a warm, caring atmosphere. Our main purpose as teachers is to listen to each child and to help him uncover that special blueprint that is his alone. In our classroom, we set the stage that supports our philosophy both physically and psychologically. We provide activities that are developmentally appropriate to suit these unique needs based on the Quaker testimonies of peace, integrity, community, equality and service. Our main goal is to motivate children to love school so that they become lifelong learners. At Wrightstown Friends, we value and preserve childhood. We are a hands-on school where literary, math and science components are built into the curriculum. Many of our weekly topics remain the same as those that were created many years ago. Others are emergent based on the children's interests or on opportunities that arise. Families are an important part of our program. We work together to share insights and experiences that instill a sense of community and a bridge between home and school.
